Willow Tree Wedding Ceremonies at Harvest Moon Pond
The willow tree ceremony option at our wedding venue near Madison, WI is located on our expansive back lawn and consists of 2 majestic willow trees. Behind the willow trees are 2 large oak trees which is an additional perk as it actually makes the willows look even more lush and full. This ceremony location is on the east side of our venue & on the back side of the barn, which is where most of the outdoor entertainment takes place. The parking lot is on the east side of the venue, so even if you have late comers to your ceremony it won’t impact your ceremony under the willows. The Willow Trees are always in full bloom mid May through Mid October, but we have also had some years where they are beautiful as early as mid April or as late as the first week of November.
Our weeping willow tree wedding venue also features a beautiful custom gate so you can make a grand entrance before walking down the aisle to the willows!
Photos with the Willow Trees
Weeping willow trees are famous for their dramatic & elegant appearance and this makes for soft and romantic photos for couples on their wedding days. Their long & graceful branches “weep” gently toward the ground creating a beautiful canopy of shade.
The weeping willow trees at our wedding venue are often photographed up close with a focus on the soft branches or from afar to capture them in the background. Many photographers also like to take family photos behind the willow trees after the ceremony as this is a great shaded area for large groups.
Many couples have also chosen to do their first look under the willow trees, which is magical!
The Symbolism Behind the Willow Trees
With it’s long, flowing branches and leaves, the willow tree often symbolizes flexibility and adaptability. The limber and supple nature of its extremities means it bends to accommodate and withstand strong winds and adverse weather. Many, therefore, see it as inspiring and symbolic of humans’ capability to withstand hardship and difficult emotions.
Some say the spiritual meaning of the willow tree is that the leaves represent the balance, harmony, and growth we experience through these storms and life challenges. The willow tree gives us hope, a sense of belonging, and safety.
What Past Couples Have to Say About the Willow Trees
“The second I toured Harvest Moon Pond and saw the willow trees I knew that’s where I wanted to get married! The willows make for a truly breathtaking centerpiece for the ceremony. You don’t even need much else for decor because they are beautiful on their own! Had to share some photos from our ceremony under the willows “ – Stephanie (June 2022 Bride)
“We also got married under the willow trees. Although I loved everything about our ceremony, the willow trees made our first look/private vow exchange magical. Walking out to my soon to be husband and meeting him under the willows allowed us to have a very private and emotional moment in an otherwise super busy and exciting day. It grounded us before taking the leap. I highly recommend meeting under the willows before your ceremony.” – Gine (July 2022 Bride)
At Harvest Moon Pond, we also offers 4 other ceremony location options, including an indoor space in our Wisconsin wedding barn that can be used as a backup on unexpected rainy days. Even if you have your heart set on one of our other ceremony locations, the willow trees make a great place for doing your first look or having family photos, couple photos and wedding party photos too. No matter which of our our ceremony locations you choose, our weeping willow trees offer the perfect backdrop for your wedding day.
