Cozy Winter Wedding at Harvest Moon Pond
The holidays are always a magical time of the year surrounded by friends and family. Adding to the environment is the gorgeous snow that dusts decor and blankets the grounds making Wisconsin Winter weddings that much more special.
Abigail & Bryan celebrated their beautiful love story with friends and family with a cozy Wisconsin Winter wedding at our wedding venue near Madison, WI.
Their Love Story
Bryan and Abigail met in the summer of 2018 while Abby was an intern at American Family and Bryan was living in Madison after graduating from UW with his masters. They both attended Calvary and eventually became friends through Bible study and church fellowship.
In late 2020, Abby and Bryan decided to try dating for the first time. The first attempt quickly failed, but the two became good friends in the Spring of 2021 after being coerced into joining the “Workout Squad” put together by Caleb (Abby’s brother). They spent a lot of time together that Spring working out, playing board games, and spending time at the Benz family cabin.
It was at that family cabin where Bryan first realized his feelings for Abby. Shortly after their trip to the cabin in July 2021, the two decided to give dating a second chance. The second time around went far better than the first and it wasn’t long before the couple became inseparable.
Over the past year, Abby and Bryan have enjoyed spending time at the Benz cabin during the summer, playing co-op board games & video games, and learning to cook meals they can enjoy together. Abby has converted Bryan to a tea-lover and Bryan has convinced Abby that spicy food isn’t inedible. Bryan has been a wonderful supporter as Abby has been working through Actuarial Exams over the past year, and even took an exam himself during the Spring because he envied the suffering. They took a trip to Disney World together in May to celebrate exam successes, where they spent time at Epcot and Magic Kingdom.
Over Memorial Day weekend in 2022, Bryan and Abby went up to the Benz cabin to enjoy a much needed vacation at the lake. Under the ruse of a “nice” dinner out, Bryan took Abby out to the pier, got down on one knee, and proposed. He surprised Abby with a weekend surrounded by family (both Benz & Boger).
They could imagine their first dance in front of the fireplace, surrounded by the smells of Christmas, and knew it would be the right place. Stephanie and Brian were so easy to work with, so right from the start, they felt like a part of the HMP family.
One of their favorite memories was eating dinner in front of the fire surrounded by family and friends.
Advice from the Couple
Their biggest piece of advice is to relax and let your vendors do what they do best. Do not try to control every detail of your day by yourself.
Abby & Bryan came into the planning process with general ideas of what they wanted and an amazing wedding planner. A lot of the details that turned to so great were from vendors using their creativity and expertise to make something beautiful that they couldn’t have dreamed up themselves.
